QuiltCon 2025 - Phoenix, AZ-- Arizona Trip Day 1

QuiltCon for 2025 was in Phoenix this year and I was fortunate enough to get to travel West and check out not only QuiltCon, but a new state for me!

My parents and I decided to make this a fun trip to Arizona and include a few days at the Grand Canyon in our adventure.

Day 1 was flying out to Phoenix from Raleigh, NC. After we flew and checked in at the hotel, we ate at this amazing restaurant called Oregano’s. We stumbled upon it as we were driving and I thought it looked like a cute local place to try! When I travel, my goal is to try and find unique places that I can’t eat at at home, that way I’m really taking advantage of what my destination has to offer.

Isn’t it cute?!

I absolutely LOVED Oregano’s! The food was amazing, but the atmosphere really pulled me in! The music included Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, all of those classic singers (which I love) and the ambiance felt like you were at an Old World Italian Bistro. They also had indoor and outdoor dining in a cute covered patio with Edison bulbs hanging overhead. I snapped a few photos of the inside just to try and remember it!

This first one is of my drink, but there’s no condensation on it! Here in NC, our cups are always covered with condensation, so this was super strange! So glad my Uncle told me to take note before we traveled!

The second one is a tiny peek of the inside with a small view of the patio! It was a hair chilly when we landed, so we opted to eat inside.

The third photo made me laugh! It’s an image of Bing Crosby laminated into the table! He’s my favorite actor of that generation, so this was too good not to take a photo of!

Our next stop would be the Grand Canyon, but this trip was already off to a great start!
