Patchwork Sky - Quilt #22

Fall 2020. Do you ever have someone you know you want to make a quilt for, but you’re just not sure which quilt pattern and fabric to use? That was me with this quilt. I knew I wanted to make my Mom a quilt for her birthday, but I just wasn’t sure what quilt I wanted to make.

When I saw the Balboa fabric line by Sherri and Chelsi, I thought it was so beautiful and that my Mom would love it! As I was thinking about the fabric, I thought about the Patchwork Sky quilt pattern by Camille Roskelley. I knew it was a winning combination and I got right to work ordering the necessary fabric for it.

I decided to use the purple fabrics from the line for the stars of the quilt (I ordered 1/2 yard of each) and a charm pack and a jelly roll of the whole Balboa collection for the rest of the quilt (this is what the pattern calls for). For the background fabric, I used Kona Snow because it blended in really well with the collection.

The quilt turned out great and I was so excited to give it to my Mom for her birthday!

For the quilting, I used the Rind pantograph by Natalia Bonner. It added so much amazing texture to the quilt!

Quilt finished: December 18, 2020. Pattern: Patchwork Sky by Camille Roskelley. Fabrics: Balboa Collection by Sherri and Chelsi. Quilted by me with the Rind Pantograph by Natalia Bonner.
