2022 Quilt Alongs
I wanted to jump on here and share about all of the Quilt Alongs I’m participating in for 2022.
Rose In Bloom Block of the Month
First up is the Rose in Bloom Block of the Month with Vanessa Goertzen and Fat Quarter Shop. This beautiful quilt features the beautiful Love Note Fabric collection by Vanessa Goertzen! This quilt is made up of forty 6” blocks in ten different designs! It’s going to be so fun to see it take shape! I love this fabric collection, so I’m looking forward to sewing a quilt throughout the year! This quilt along runs from January - October 2022. If you want to participate, you may still be able to find a quilt kit, or you can purchase the Rose in Bloom book and use your own fabrics.
I purchased my kit from Bella Rose Fabrics. Their version is the complete kit for the quilt top and binding, plus the book. It comes all at once rather than in monthly shipments.
I’m already mulling over quilting ideas!
Heirloom Hearts Quilt Along
This quilt along is with Brittany Lloyd from Lo and Behold Stitchery. She released this beautiful heart quilt pattern and I knew I wanted to make it. I just didn’t know when! I was trying to think of what fabrics I could use for the quilt, when I realized I had a wonderful bundle of pink/purple and blue fabrics. I didn’t have to purchase any additional fabric to make the quilt top! A bonus!!
Her blog post with all the details can be found here! It’s not too late to jump in!
There are also quilt kits available on her website! I love this one!
Heartfelt Charity Sew Along
The next quilt along I’m doing this year is the Heartfelt Charity Sew Along with Fat Quarter Shop. This quilt along benefits Make-a-Wish of Central South Texas and I’m excited to be sewing along!
This amazing heart quilt was designed by Corey Yoder and uses her Beautiful Day fabric collection.
I love that the background fabric for this quilt has a print. I usually shy away from a printed background fabric - actually, I don’t think I’ve ever used a printed background fabric - but I’m excited to see how this one turns out!
This quilt also has a beautiful pieced backing! Another first for me!
It looks like the quilt kits are sold out, but Fat Quarter Shop did release the fabric requirements, so you can build your own kit!
Too Cute to Spook Mystery Quilt Along
I had so much fun with the Bats & Boos quilt along last year that I decided to participate in Fat Quarter Shop’s Halloween quilt along again this year!
This is a fun quilt along because the quilt is a complete surprise and the patterns for the blocks are revealed in a video tutorial week-by-week. This quilt along is starting in June.
You can still grab a kit for this quilt and it includes the backing fabric, too! That never happens!!
I can’t wait to see how this quilt comes together!
2022 Designer Mystery Block of the Month
Speaking of mystery, last, but certainly not least, is the 2022 Designer Mystery Block of the Month with Fat Quarter Shop.
Each block of the quilt is designed by a different Moda Fabrics designer and they all come together to make a beautiful quilt. There are 12 different mystery blocks.
What makes this quilt cohesive is the fabric line. This quilt uses the gorgeous Nantucket Summer line by Camille Roskelley. This is her first solo line and it is stunning! The color palette is so soothing and I cannot wait to see what this quilt looks like.
This one is a block of the month and each month, from June 2022 - May 2023, I’ll get a shipment with the fabric for that month’s block as well as the pattern for the block! It’s a complete surprise and I’m so excited!
The quilt along doesn’t start until June, but you can reserve the blocks, finishing kit, and backing, now. If you want to do this quilt along, I recommend reserving your kits now. These will more than likely sell out! In order to make the quilt top, you’ll need the blocks kit and the finishing kit. You can always choose your own backing if you’d like. The backing kit is just yardage, not a pieced back.
What really sold me on this quilt along is the setting blocks in the finishing kit. They’re beautiful log cabin blocks with Ohio stars in the middle. Absolutely beautiful!
